BRAZUCA the official 2014 Fifa world cup ball was recently unveiled by Adidas. After two years in the making and extensive testing involving more than 600 of the top world’s football/soccer players (including Messi- of course), and thirty teams from different continents the ball is finally here. We can’t wait for the 2014 World Cup to begin!
EVOLUTION OF THE WORLD CUP BALL
The Brazuca is the official match ball of the 2014 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Brazil. It will be made by the company Adidas, a FIFA Partner and FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball supplier since 1970. This is the first FIFA World Cup ball named by fans.
“adidas Brazuca” following a public vote by over one million Brazilian football fans, where the name received 70 per cent of the vote. Adidas, the FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball supplier since 1970, took inspiration from elements of Brazilian culture to come up with a shortlist of three possible names for the ball. In addition to the eventual winner Brazuca, there were two more options – Bossa Nova and Carnavalesca.
The Brazuca ball has six polyurethane panels that are bonded to keep the ball the same weight and roundness in even the thickest of rain.
The never-before-seen panel shape revolutionizes the game by producing faster flight speed and maintaining true roundness.
The bladder of the Brazuca ball is made of latex and provides the desired rebound.
The ball is textured and feels more like the adidas’ Finale 13, the official UEFA Champions League ball, than the adidas Jabulani used in South Africa four years ago.
The adidas Brazuca ball, in a bold white/night blue/multicolor colorway befitting Brazil, is the most colorful ever for a FIFA World Cup™
