The secret is to FIND A HEALTHY WORK-LIFE BALANCE.
They did a survey in Australia recently where they asked retired people several questions. Results on all the questions varied. Except for one question where the (overwhelmingly) majority of the people answered the same thing.
The question was: WHAT DO YOU REGRET THE MOST IN LIFE?
They all answered: Working too much.
Not one person replied “I regret spending too much time with the family”. Or “I regret spending too much time having fun”. They all regret having worked too much.
Many people now work to many hours. There is no balance between work and personal life anymore. We live in a culture that tends to be fueled by stress. However, to be successful in business, and to maintain these levels of success, individuals have to live a balanced life. These are some tips to achieve this:
1. TAKE CARE OF YOUR WELL-BEING AND HEALTH
Get good sleep hours (at least 7-8 every day). Stop working at 5-6pm. Enjoy what you really love and stop thinking about work. Give your brain a rest. Take as good care of yourself.
People tend to make important mistake when they are too tired.
2. LOOK TO THE WISDOM OF THE ANCIENT WORLD
Ancient cultures (from different countries in the world) have the same message: “know thyself”. Take time for yourself. What do you love? What are you passionate about? Are you doing enough of that?
Be very generous with these activities.
